Spring and summer is approaching, and it seems men and women alike are more conscious about shedding the layers of clothing to show more skin.
Whether it’s a sleeveless shirt, skirts above the knees, skinny jeans, or body hugging whatever, our bodies for the most part indicate to us vanity, sexiness, or even unimportance. Well, get ready to hear the truth! All of that is a lie.
Forget body image, and how you think you’re “supposed” to look. Looks have nothing to do with this. I’m talking about health. Healthy looks good on everyone!
EXERCISE is not a four letter word – it can be the best prescription for DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, and STRESS in general. And we now have studies to prove it. The word “depression” is so loosely used these days we may not even know what it means. Depression can take on many forms – apathy, fear, sleeplessness, and sadness, just to name a few. You’re not yourself, and for sure it is affecting your mood.
Of course, exercise makes your body strong and lean, but more importantly, it promotes all kinds of changes in the brain.
Exercising is just “moving” your body. Anything from walking the malls to dancing in your living room qualifies. Splitting movement up throughout the day is beneficial, as well as being a weekend warrior.
Our bodies soon begin to thank us from more energy, sleeping better, to a better sex life. Not to add more pressure, but we’re in charge of this! We choose what kind of exercise, when, with whom, and how often.
So even if you feel overwhelmed with all the pressures out there to look a certain way, remember, you’re doing this for yourself ! Your mood will put a smile on your face!
